STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) at NBC provides students with the opportunity to find creative solutions to real world problems, through research, careful planning, and the use of new and existing technologies, such as 3D print design or laser cutting.

STEM as a real life learning medium

Students are the drivers of solutions and should be asking questions, proposing ideas, generating and testing solutions, and making decisions based on data to understand how to refine ideas further. By bringing together Science, Technology, Engineering and Math concepts our aim is to encourage our students to see how these subjects are both interconnected and relevant to our own lives. In STEM we also develop students’ critical and creative thinking skills, ability to collaborate and communicate with others, and be resilient when faced with difficult challenges.

At Northern Bay College STEM is delivered to students who actively participate to effectively solve problems.
